Scott Walker being sued by candidate passed over for appointment

Well this is interesting….

A woman passed over as Marinette County register of deeds earlier this year sued Gov. Scott Walker on Wednesday, saying he violated a federal law that prohibits denying people jobs because they have filed for bankruptcy.

The suit in federal court in Milwaukee by deputy register of deeds Becky Chasensky also alleges Walker violated her rights to equal protection under the law when he passed her up for a more politically connected candidate.

I can’t wait to see Gov. Walker defend his decision to appoint a more politically-connected (but less qualified) person as Marinette County register of deeds over an individual who was more qualified and more highly recommended but less politically connected.

  1. The problem is that the Governor has pretty wide latitude to appoint anyone he wants, no matter how unqualified.

  2. What are you talking about. We know our fine Governor picked the best candidate for the job, and doesn’t show any favortism toward campaign contributors and workers.
