Mahlon Mitchell endorses Mark Pocan

Earlier today, former Democratic Lt. Governor candidate Mahlon Mitchell endorsed the campaign of fellow Democrat Mark Pocan, who’s running to replace Tammy Baldwin in the second Congressional district. Here’s what Mitchell had to say about his endorsement of Pocan.

“Mark Pocan has served tirelessly in support of progressive values – tackling some of the most challenging problems here in Wisconsin,” stated Mitchell. “From protecting seniors and fighting for women’s rights, to standing up to Governor Walker’s policies, his experience and integrity is unmatched.”

“I am excited to send our leading progressive to Washington,” noted Mitchell, “because he will defend critical programs and policies from the Tea Party extremists.”

While Mitchell’s endorsement may not have the same impact as former Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager’s endorsement of Pocan’s opponent, Kelda Roys, Mitchell’s endorsement statement is a stark contrast to Lautenschlager’s. While Lautenschlager’s statement endorsing Roys focusing primarily on attacking Mark Pocan on several fronts, Mitchell’s statement had a far more positive tone, echoing the tones taken by the respective campaigns they have endorsed.
