Republican Senator Scott Brown’s daughter has insurance because of Obamacare

Well isn’t this interesting?!?!?

Scott Brown may be opposed to the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to avail himself of all the benefits of the legislation change.

It’s not technically Scott Brown who is benefiting from the provisions provided by law, and realistically, without Obamacare, the law would just mean that Brown would likely pay out of pocket, since he doesn’t work at Walmart or for a small employer, like many Americans.

But Brown- who has voted thrice to strike down the law that has become known in American parlance as Obamacare- admits that his own 23-year-old daughter is only eligible to remain covered under his government insurance plan thanks to the new laws extending health coverage eligibility ages for adult children.

Scott Brown’s daughter Ayla is 23, and is a singer. (Which are life circumstances and a life plan of which many healthcare law naysayers are totally supportive of, I bet.) Brown, for his part, denies hypocrisy in covering his daughter under the ACA, due to the fact that he believes turning the issue over to states is a better route than a federal level law- however, that kind of ignores the fact that many, many daughters will go uncovered, and thusly unable to pursue their professional singing careers, should the law not remain in place in all states.

Ultimately, the involving Sen. Scott Brown’s daughter illustrates the great lie of so many conservatives – while they rail against the evils of “big government” and “government handouts,” they have few (if any) qualms when it comes to availing themselves of the programs and services made available by “big government.”

  1. If ObamaCare is such a great bill, why has Obama given waivers to hundreds of unions to avoid following the rules of ObamaCare?
