Mike Huckabee Supports a Vengeful god

This absolute nonsense is beyond the pale. From Friday, December 14th, 2012 (YES THAT VERY FRIDAY) TPMLivewire:

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee attributed the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in part to restrictions on school prayer and religious materials in the classroom.

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools,” Huckabee said on Fox News, discussing the murder spree that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, CT that morning. “Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?”

So Mr. Huckabee…your god isn’t a god of peace and comfort and forgiveness at all…he is in fact a god of vengeance and spite and retribution?

Beware the evangelical christian who quotes the Old Testament to support their belief structure instead of the words of Christ. I call them Old Testament christians…who still believe in an eye for an eye and stoning and denouncing sinners. They smell more like 21st Century Sadducees than Christians.

And he also seems to be a little confused about the rights enumerated in the US Constitution, a document he swore to uphold while Arkansas governor…

“…but Huckabee suggested that the separation of church and state may have spurred his rampage.’

But I bet he’ll be head of the line to protect the second amendment should this nation actually find the balls to have a discussion about appropriate restrictions on gun ownership!

  1. People think that fundamentalist interpretations of The Bible are strict. The reality is they give themselves so much leeway to use whatever they want to serve their needs.
