Senator Kathleen Vinehout will visit the October membership meeting of the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County. From the DMC meeting agenda:
Senator Kathleen Vinehout will join us to share some scary stories about how she’s fighting the madness in Madison
Meeting info:
When: Mon, Oct 28, 2013 7:00 PM – Mon
Where: Thompson Youth Center, Meeting Room 4, 640 S. 84th Street, West Allis
See you there!
And for those of you who haven’t been paying attention, the other important item on the agenda:
Sachin Chheda will deliver his final remarks as the Chair of the Milwaukee County Dems
This may also be a good listening session for the new to the scene, Pvt. Burke, to learn from a veteran who has been on the front lines doing battle with the Walker/Koch/Doe invasion while the former civilian Burke was “treking” these past several years.
Kathleen Vinehout, who is considering a primary challenge to the “establishment” gubernatorial candidate, Mary Burke, is going to speak at the Milwaukee County Democratic Party’s monthly meeting at the same time that that the county party chairman is stepping down.
Is that a mere coincidence or is there some sort of inside politics behind that?
It is just a coincidence that his term is up.
Senator Vinehout’s discussion last Sunday in Eau Claire hit a nerve at the well attended meeting of local Democrats. Her message on Senate Bill 349 was a warning about the proposal of vested mining interests and others to take local control of water, air, traffic and crops from Wisconsin towns and villages. The bill attempts to reverse a UNANIMOUS decision by the Wisconsin Supreme Court that affirmed local governments have the right to exercise police power/home rule to protect the health, safety and welfare of their communities. “This is an issue that affects everyone in Wisconsin, Democrat or Republican, who values the quality of living Wisconsin has so long treasured and protected,” said Vinehout.
And this is an issue that I seriously doubt the Ms. Burke would even be aware of, much less call meetings around the state to vet. Whether or not Kathleen Vinehout ends up on the ballot in 2014, her knowledge of the real political issues affecting the future of Wisconsin is unsurpassed at present and deserves every citizen’s careful attention.
It bears repeating: “…Kathleen Vinehout..her knowledge of the real political issues affecting the future of Wisconsin is unsurpassed at present and deserves every citizen’s careful attention.”
Ed Garvey says “…nuts to that…” for those Democratic leaders who want to avoid a primary.
