Via Twitter comes news that Cudahy alderman Justin Moralez, who’s just a year into his three-year term as the first district alderman, is planning a run for the State Assembly seat currently held by Democrat Christine Sinicki.

Curiously, Moralez’s announcement does not note if he’ll be running as a Democrat or a Republican, but I’ll have more on that in a later post.
Moralez’s decision to run for the State Assembly so soon into his first term as alderman will undoubtedly invite comparisons between Moralez and former Cudahy first district Alderman/County Supervisor/Mayor Ryan McCue, who was criticized by many in Cudahy for not ever finishing out a full term in any office he was elected to, other than Cudahy Mayor.
UPDATE: Shortly after this was published, Ald. Moralez reached out to me and noted that if elected to the State Assembly, he plans on continuing as a Cudahy Alderman. Ald. Moralez also noted he plans on running as a Republican for the State Assembly.
