Brostoff declared winner of first AD19 debate

Here’s some news from the 19th Assembly District race.

Jonathan Brostoff last week won the straw poll at the first debate between candidates for Assembly District 19.

The candidate forum, held on May 1, was hosted by UW-Milwaukee College Democrats and took place on campus. Jonathan was joined by two other candidates for the seat, which represents the East Side, Downtown, the Third Ward, Bay View and parts of Riverwest.

“It was great to have a chance to speak about important issues like education, transit, economic development, and women’s health with neighbors in the district,” said Brostoff. “I thank the UWM College Democrats for providing the forum and for having the confidence in me to declare me the winner of the debate.”

Brostoff, a lifelong resident of Milwaukee’s East Side, is currently on leave of absence from his job as Senator Chris Larson’s District Director.

While Jonathan some may dismiss Brostoff’s “win” in the post-debate straw poll as trivial in the grand scheme of things, I think it’s certainly noteworthy, especially considering the presence of a well-known career politician like Marina Dimitrijevic in the race.
