Wait, wait, wait. Milwaukee Mayoral Candidate Bob Donovan Is Campaigning In…West Allis?

I hope he doesn’t think that West Allis is part of Milwaukee…there are a lot of West Allis residents who would take umbrage with that…but given some of his other miscues, I wouldn’t be totally surprised.

But yes, on Sunday, Milwaukee Mayoral candidate Bob Donovan made an obvious campaign appearance in West Allis under the auspices of the Wisconsin Conservative Digest, a group that most of you are familiar with as long time readers. You can read about it at the link above or listen to the NPR story as broadcast.

But it is interesting that Mr. Donovan is running as a change candidate after having been a Milwaukee alderman for TWENTY years. And it is unlikely that Mr. Donovan would be a finalist in this contest if it weren’t for his TWENTY years on the Milwaukee Common Council and a previous devastating loss to former Mayor Tom Barrett in his previous mayoral campaign.

So, again, I question what a Milwaukee Mayoral candidate is doing running a campaign activity in a suburb. Can’t he find a friendly room in Milwaukee?
