Bob Donovan Should Just Simply Withdraw From The Milwaukee Mayoral Election:

Why??? Because of this article: Bob Donovan says he would probably move back to Greenfield if he loses the Milwaukee mayoral race. This is behind a fire wall so you might not be able to get at it…but here’s the gist.

Former Ald. Bob Donovan is running to be the next mayor of Milwaukee.

But if he comes up short against Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson in the April general election, Donovan is not likely to stick around to see what happens next.

That’s because Donovan, in an interview last week, said if he loses, he probably would return to the Greenfield condo where he and his wife moved after he retired as a Milwaukee Common Council member in 2020. He also owns a house on the south side of Milwaukee.

“It’s a nice condo; it’s just small. It’s perfect for Kathy and I,” Donovan said when asked about his future plans. “And I have a garage. I never had a garage in my life. I love having a garage now.”

So there you go.

So why would I want a washed up politician who has no real interest in Milwaukee other than the power that is vested in the mayor’s office for my mayor? Mr. Donovan, please do the right thing and withdraw and just retreat to Greenfield. Hopefully Greenfield won’t notice.

And a response from his mayoral opponent, Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson?

“It absolutely, 100% says something about his commitment to the city,” Johnson said of Donovan’s plan to move if he loses. “He already did leave, first and foremost. … He’s already got one foot out the door. He’s already proven that.”
