I was going to write on the whole Common story that Fox News keeps pushing. Then I looked at it and realized there was absolutely no story there. So nevermind!

Zach’s Edit: I don’t typically edit entries by other contributors, but I felt I had to share the video from Jon Stewart’s show that Zuma Bound linked to in his comment:

The video that Zach posted above is the first half of the segment that The Daily Show called the “Tone Def Poetry Jam”.

The second half of the segment is called, “Tone Def Poetry Jam – Lyrics Controversy”. It’s even funnier, more incisive and revealing than the first half of the segment, which is OFF THE HOOK!

Here is a link to the second half of the segment:

The two halves of the “Tone Def Poetry Jam” segment run about 11 minutes in all, and are the perfect commentary on nonsensical, tunnel-visioned, hyper-partisan rightwing hackery, on Fixed News and on Sean “Inanity”.

Jon Stewart’s “inspiration”in this regard was so blatant, the bullsh*t so beyond the pale, that, as he noted in the segment, it was hard to muster the usual anger and outrage about it because it so mindnumbingly stupid. It was SO bad that I think Stewart will point to it as the day that the Right, not to mention Fixed News, was forever exposed for exactly what it is.

Watch the whole thing, OR you will be missing out! Trust me.

As usual, the hysterical rightwing punditocracy gets it wrong. Here’s the real story. It was about, wait for it…poetry:
