Warhawks set to play in D-III title game

The UW-Whitewater Warhawks, one of perennial powerhouses in NCAA Division III football, defeated Linfield (Ore.) 27-17 at Perkins Stadium on Saturday, advancing to the Stagg Bowl for the fifth consecutive year. The Warhawks will face off for the Division 3 national championship against undefeated Mount Union, who like Whitewater comes into the Stagg Bowl with a perfect record of 14 wins and 0 losses. Mount Union and Whitewater have met the past four times in the Stagg Bowl, with Mount Union winning three of the four meetings.

I know I’ll be rooting for Whitewater to beat Mount Union, because it sure would be nice to see another Division 3 championship for the Warhawks.

    1. You should be rooting for Whitewater, Ray. After all, Mount Union is the 800 pound gorilla of D-III football.

    1. Ray, the size of the university is irrelevant. Mount Union has dominated D-III football for many years, so you should be rooting for the underdog.

      Oh, and you’re on.
