Unfortunately, it is not out of the realm of possibility…

A quick browse of the Huffington Post and my eye caught this story. After a nice belly laugh, I started looking elsewhere on the page and came across these stories also:

It was symbolic when the six Republican candidates for U.S. Senate stood up together side-by-side during a debate Wednesday. It resembled their positions on major issues. All said they would have voted against extending long-term unemployment benefits. All argued Elena Kagan should not have been appointed to the Supreme Court. All said man-made global warming hasn’t been proven.

The troubled security firm formerly known as Blackwater will pay $42 million in fines to settle thousands of violations of U.S. export control regulations, according to The New York Times.
The company still has contracts to provide security for both the State Department and the CIA in Afghanistan. In June, the CIA gave Xe an additional $100 million contract to provide security for its regional offices in Afghanistan.

NEW YORK — Republican candidate for governor Carl Paladino said he would transform some New York prisons into dormitories for welfare recipients, where they could work in state-sponsored jobs, get employment training and take lessons in “personal hygiene.”

And finally, this Gem!

The conservative known as “the Hammer” defended the lobbyist-paid-for trips as saving taxpayer money. “I would take trips paid for by private interests and nonprofit interests because I didn’t believe taxpayers should be paying for it,” adding that it was “the right thing to do.”

When Tom Delay is preaching Morals, and ROJO is warning us about the the dangers of sunspots, and Newt Gingrich is in Wisconsin raising money for local republicans, I wonder about our whole political system.

It seems to me that Blago getting back into politics, would not be the strangest news of the day!
