UW Madison and Marquette placed among the top 40 national Universities in a recent ranking by the Washington Monthly’s College Guide based on national rankings in 3 criteria ” Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country)”. Madison ranked #23 and Marquette ranked #32. The UW did particularly well on Research with a number 9 rank, while Marquette scored a 2nd place finish on Service.
UWM achieved an overall ranking of 250, out of the 258 national schools ranked.

In Master’s level schools, UW Eau Claire led the WI pack at 113, followed by UW Stevens Point at #215. Here are the other schools ranked:

For liberal art schools, Ripon ranked 32 and Lawrence 52.
