Republican Thugs….

Assemblyman Fred Clark, recently announced his plans to run against Luther Olson , who is subject to a recall election. The local Democratic party rented a room in the Baraboo Civic Center to allow Assemblyman Clarke to announce his intention to run for Olson\'s seat.

Unfortunately, while Olson used to be considered a reasonable and sane politician, the republican thug techniques from Ftzwalkerstan, that WI has become used to, took hold at this simple press conference.

A room in the Baraboo Civic Center — which was rented by Sauk County Democrats — was packed with backers of Rep. Fred Clark, D-Baraboo, who announced his intention to run for Olsen’s Senate seat in the upcoming recall election.

As Sauk County social worker Jill Ellinwood introduced Clark at the podium, a few of Olsen’s supporters forced their way into the packed room and the groups traded insults.

Clark took the podium, and during a pause in Clark’s speech a tussle broke out in the back of the room.

Chuck Goranson of Portage said he was trying to take a picture when one of the Olsen supporters “reached up and grabbed the lens and twisted it.”

The lens on the small handheld camera no longer functions, Goranson said. But he doesn’t plan to file a police report.

The republican damage control machine then kicked into high gear. As the local chair of the Republican party, Tim McCumber is typically playing the victim.

Despite the fact that they entered a private meeting, uninvited and screaming, McCumber \"blames the liberals\".

Then of course Olson’s spokesman is using his position to reshape reality:

Olsen’s campaign spokesman, Jeff Weigand, denied that his group caused a disturbance inside the Civic Center.

“I was there myself,” Weigand said. “There was no disturbance. There was people from both sides of the aisle there.”

Either Wiegand is trying to be \"Baraboo Bob\" OR Clubber Lang.

The people of the 14th Senate District deserve more than the childish behavior displayed by the Olson campaign. As Assemblyman Clark said“We certainly knew there was going to be a rally for Sen. Olsen, and that’s fine, But I hoped they’d be more respectful than that.”

  1. Probably afraid that the sneaky progressives are holding back video evidence in order to blindside them if they push it and/or cop the usual wingnut attitudes. . .
