Walker campaign forced to return $170,000 in illegal contributions

Earlier today it was announced the campaign of Republican Gov. Scott Walker must return $170,000 in illegal contributions it received from the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce PAC in December 2011. Walker’s campaign had received a total contribution of $175,000 from MMAC’s PAC. MMAC’s PAC was also fined $500 for the infraction in February.

It’s notable that the $175,000 contribution by the MMAC PAC to Walker’s campaign was one of many six-figure donations received by the Walker campaign.

  1. And when the MMAC says “Jump,” the Journal-Sentinel says “How high?”

Seriously, this is a big deal, if for nothing else because it exposes how attached the MMAC and Walker are to each other, and how not-so-bright Milwaukee’s Illuminati really are.

$55,000 in payments to a Chicago RICO lawyer and $170,000 may be run-of-the-mill stuff in Springfield, Illinois (where Walker was today), but it sure shouldn’t be acceptable in Wisconsin.

    1. You’re absolutely right that this is a big deal, because this isn’t the first time one of Walker’s campaigns has had to return illegal campaign contributions.

  2. MMAC bought six seats on the Milwaukee Area Technical College Board and the $170,000 turned out to just be a loan. Not a bad deal,Control of the Milwaukee Area Technical College Board for $500. These guys have no shame!
