Any number of GOP electeds are supporting adding armed guards and armed teachers to schools to stop mass shooters…and limiting access to one door…but just over a year ago…January 6th, 2021…one of the highest profile buildings in the United States had a literal army of trained police officers protecting it and they had locked doors and they had fencing around the building’s perimeters…yet this happened:
If you don’t know what happened on January 6th, 2021, there is no help for you. But despite warnings, arms, training, fencing, the US Capitol was attacked and breached by insurrectionists and people died.
So arming civilian teachers or posting armed volunteers at the door or recruiting aging retired law enforcement officers isn’t going to keep our schools safe. It’s just not.
