I have already taken a position on this on Blogging Blue: 1938 Sudetenland : 1939 Poland :: 2022 Ukraine : 2023 Poland. But given some of the comments at the GOP debate this past week, I guess I need to do it again.
A friend of mine recently visited the D-Day beaches in Normandy and has posted hundreds of related photos on social media. I never ever want American solders to have to storm Europe again to liberate it from despots and totalitarian madmen. The GOP needs to stop kissing Putin’s ass or sucking his dick (apply that as you see fit). And America needs to protect democracy at the very first moment that it is threatened. And right now in 2023, that is Ukraine.
