Paul Ryan’s New Boss….
I have always identified Paul Ryan as (R-Wall St.), but I have come to realize that he now reports to a new master – The Koch Brothers. (Be honest did anyone think Wisconsin’s First District residents? Didn’t think so). The Billionaire Koch Brothers, who inherited their billions, recently recently tried to hold a secret meeting of the tea party financiers. They have been holding these meetings in secret for a while now(Rodeo Clown Glenn Beck was the headliner last year). This year news of the meeting was leaked and, much to the Koch brothers chagrin, about 1500 people showed up to protest the welfare kings. The Brothers K, who fund the tea party and claim to love “grassroots” have a differing opinion when it is aimed AT them. The democracy hating brothers, hired goons to threaten critics and reporters.
Inside the resort at the beginning of the conference, “there was an atmosphere almost of paranoia,” said Gary Ferdman, a Common Cause official.
Ferdman had reservations at the resort and stayed there Thursday and Friday night. He said he was told Saturday that his lunch reservations at the resort restaurant had been canceled and was urged to check out and leave promptly by a member of Koch’s large security detail.
Security manned every doorway and stairwell near the ballrooms where Koch events were held, and threatened to jail this POLITICO reporter while he waited in line at the resort’s cafe, after he stopped by a Koch conference registration table.
The resort grounds were “closed for a private function,” the resort’s head of security, James Foster told POLITICO, ushering the reporter outside, where private security guards, wearing gold lapel pins bearing Koch’s “K” logo, threatened “a citizen’s arrest” and a “night in the Riverside County jail” if the reporter continued asking questions and taking photographs.
Now that they can buy elections and politicians, they think they have the ability to arrest reporters.
While the fact that the Koch’s are anti-democracy and have nothing but disdain for the working people of this country is not surprising, the main speaker at this weekend event was – Congressman Paul Ryan.
Ryan gave his speech to a crowd that included Patrick Pizzella(jack Abramoffs old partner), Americans for Prosperity officials like Alan Cobb, political consultant Michael Goldfarb, longtime lobbyist Nancy Pfotenhauer, and a number of donors, including Home Depot founder Ken Langone and billionaire heiress Diane Hendricks(hmmmm). Ryan then followed up this weekend gathering by breaking his promise of cutting $100 billion from the budget by coming up with a much smaller
32 Billion dollars in cuts. In typical Ryan fashion, he does not give specifics of what the cuts will be too.
Is this really what the “tea party” was after? a Bunch of billionaires meeting in complete secrecy and arresting reporters? Does the fact that Paul Ryan says how high when the Koch Brothers say jump bother anyone in the first district of WI? How does the Koch brothers ideology and priorities align with the people of Janesville and Racine? Is making the Koch brothers happy really qualify Ryan for a promotion in Wisconsin politics? When is the last time Paul Ryan did something that actually benefited the 1st district of WI?
From now on I will represent Ryan by his real affiliation – Paul Ryan (R – Koch Brothers).
