Lori Compas is known to many as the woman who had the courage to take on Republican incumbent Scott Fitzgerald in Wisconsin Senate District 13. But before Compas became a grassroots hero, she was (and still is) a small business owner. On Thursday, 9/27/12, she will combine her passion for progressive politics and business with the launch of a new organization, the Wisconsin Business Alliance.
Lori Compas explained her rationale for the formation of her new venture via email:
“I’m often asked whether I’ll run for office again. The simple answer is that I just don’t know. I enjoyed being a candidate, but for now I’m working full-time on launching a new organization, the Wisconsin Business Alliance…
I think the best way I can help the causes we believe in — particularly education, health care reform, government transparency, and conservation — is to make a strong business case for them.”

Good Luck. If you want to win Wisconsin, however, you need to win West Wisconsin. We try to fight that battle in Eau Claire and have trouble gathering resources. People in and around district seven consider Milwaukee/Madison as a separate state unresponsive to their interests. Ask Katherine Vinehout about this, and try to understand how to approach all of Wisconsin.
