Rep. Hebl to Hold Listening Sessions on 2011-13 State Budget

MADISON – Representative Gary Hebl (D-Sun Prairie) is inviting members of the public to attend listening sessions regarding Governor Walker’s 2011-13 Budget Bill in the Town of Cottage Grove on Friday, April 1, 2011 and in the City of Sun Prairie on Monday, April 4, 2011.

“Clearly, Governor Walker’s budget makes significant changes to state programs and support for local government services,” said Rep. Hebl. “I want to hear directly from my constituents and to learn their concerns so that I can make sure their voices are heard at the Capitol.”

The Town of Cottage Grove listening session will occur from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, April 1 in the Cottage Grove Town Hall, located at 4058 County Road N.

The City of Sun Prairie listening session will occur from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, April 4 in the Sun Prairie High School Performing Arts Center, located at 888 Grove Street.

Testimony will be limited to 2 minutes per speaker for the purpose of hearing as many people as possible. Staff will be available 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to receive slips from people wishing to testify or register their opinion on the bill.

“My number one priority as a legislator is listening to my constituents and bringing their concerns to light during the upcoming budget debate,” added Rep. Hebl. “Listening to the people who will be affected by the budget is my first step in the budget process.”
