Winnebago County Exec Mark Harris to consider 2014 run for governor

During an appearance on “UpFront with Mike Gousha,” Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris, a Democrat, said he will make a decision by Labor Day on whether to run in the Democratic race for governor in 2014.

Aaron Camp over at The Apollo Report has some thoughts on why he thinks Harris won’t run for governor, while John Peterson at Democurmudgeon likes Harris because “he’s practical and thinks long term.”

While I don’t know enough about Harris to have an opinion of how formidable a candidate he’d be, he certainly seems to have a firm grasp on Gov. Scott Walker’s budgeting “funny business,” not to mention an ability to articulate just how bad Walker’s budgeting is for so many Wisconsinites.

  1. Don’t if this johnny come lately will draw my support away from Kathleen Vinehout, who would be a history remaking Governor…and not just because she’s a woman.
